My filled with happiness life

"What if the world was crazy and I was sane Would it be so strange I can't believe that I am alone in saying The things I'm saying I am - part of you These are - universal truths We're all - part of the light that flows through everything" -Cher ! discouraged, weighed down

my space is in disaray

I want to get rid of all self pity
be light, be free
its not so easy
having to adapt
when im asleep
im on stage
beautiful stretchy dance suit
bright colors
rhinestone neclace and earings
working the crowd out
im on campus
skipping
arms in the air
going everywhere

Diva of the Week: Nancy M

current mood: happy!
.
current: "miracle" by cascada
whats in my cd player right now? Madonna, Tracy Chapman and Gwen Stefani

Divas are not always just fabulous dancing queens with big wigs who are covered in rhinestones. there are every day divas. they may be your next door neighbor even. Nancy is a fascinating person who when you get the privilige to meet and know you count yourself blessed. Positive energy radiates from her. She is a very wise woman with much to share if you give her the chance (you invest time in her, she will invest time in you. it is sad some people never do this and miss out on alot); with all her wisdom, she still knows there is so much she does not know and continues to learn, search, and grow. She has taught me alot and I hope to learn much more from her in the future. Although no one will ever replace my mother, I see Nancy as a friend and also a second motherlike figure in my life. I am able to share things with her from my life that I guess I wish I could share with my mother like drag (and also things that I share with my mom too, oh and I cant wait to go to a rose room show with her). I remember last semester when I got some of my sketches done, applied the designs on myself, got the pictures back how excited I was to share them with Nancy.
She is a great source of advice on any issue. She also reads tarot cards which allows her to tune into her inate psychic ablities. She is very psychic, intune to energy around her and great judge of character.

She is a wonderful artist. Her paintings are magnificent. Her blending of colors is excellent. Her quality is very high in her paintings. I wonder if she has some of her work scanned that I could post her so you can see what Im talking about.(In fact, I think she does because she sent some to her mom to see. I will have to ask her if she will allow me to share them with you.)I have a painting of mermaid done by her hanging in my room. She will one day have her own gallery in New York (I just know it).

She is a woman full of heart and soul. She cares about other's and society as a whole. If something about society bothers her, she doesnt just say "well thats too bad" and go back to her life. She speaks up about it and trys to do her part to change the world and effect others to do the same.

She is a mother of a wonderful little boy. He is a genius and very talented. When you see him and are around him for alittle while if you never met his parents, you would know this is a boy whose parents really love him and invest alot of time in him. Nancy is a working mother so she is really working two full time jobs (her job at work and then as mother) and I believe does an excellent job at balancing it. She has made sacrifices for him and I admire her. Her son is a bundle of joy and full of love and kindess that I believe he has picked up from the example set in his home.
They have a very special bond.

A friend, a mother, an artist, a counselor, wise, caring, passionate, warm, down to earth, positive, sacrificial, preserver of what is right not what is "right",seeker of truth and knowledge, insightful, eccentric, unique. she is one of those people the scarecrow talks about in the quote at the top of my blog.

This is an attempt to capture the essence of who Nancy is. She is a very special person and I am so glad to have been introduced to her by Jerry. Nancy, you have been on this earth for almost ** years now and may your next ** bring you new discoveries of knowledge and truth, happiness, satisfaction, new friends and new heights. Of course all this is why I have chose her as my diva of the week. I got to thinking and thought how could I not?

my poor arm

current mood: distressed,sore,

so saturday I was walking into the general academic building and fell on my back. My elbow took the impact and has been hurting ever since. The floor was wet with no "wet floor" sign. I am not able to have the full range of mobility with my left arm like I normally do. The bruise is getting worse and spreading out. It looks so ugly today (it would be good for a picture for my makeup morgue). I have a appointment with the wellness center tommorow. I dont believe I should have to pay for xrays though since the university is at fault and should pay my medical bills regarding this matter. Well im off to catch a little grub and then go study for my world lit exam. Yesterday I had my MUHU exam and made a 78.

Until next time,
checked your city's water purity levels lately? did you recycle today?

coming soon: Diva of the week! not sure when will publish maybe tonight.

current mood: happy!
current song: Valeria "Rhythm of the night"

So today I had lunch with my dad, met with tashina and liss over the renderings and have been studying for my MUHU exam tommorow. Yesterday, I got to see a run through of the play for the first time and was very impressed. Some of the actors were great. The play is intense but very good. Our last production meeting is this tuesday, then we have tech weekend this coming weekend and then next week dress rehearsals and then the following weekend, the show opens. This week, Liss and I will be working on worksheets and makeup fittings for the actors.

World on Fire lyrics

Hearts are worn in these dark ages
You're not alone in this story's pages
Night has fallen amongst the living and the dying
And I try to hold it in, yeah I try to hold it in

[Chorus]
The world's on fire and
It's more than I can handle
I'll tap into the water
(I try to pull my ship)
I try to bring more
More than I can handle
(Bring it to the table)
Bring what I am able

I watch the heavens and I find a calling
Something I can do to change this moment
Stay close to me while the sky is falling
Don't wanna be left alone, don't wanna be alone

[Chorus]

Hearts break, hearts mend
Love still hurts
Visions clash, planes crash
Still there's talk of
Saving souls, still the cold
Is closing in on us

We part the veil on our killer sun
Stray from the straight line on this short run
The more we take, the less we become
A fortune of one that means less for some

[Chorus X2]

coming up tommorow: Diva of the Week!

If you could change one thing about society.....

current mood: tired but happy
.

I am adding as you can see much more images to my blog posts than in the past which is because im a very visual person.

what would it be?
post your thoughts and ideas on here. i would love to hear what you would want to change.

I would want to end the wave of homophobia that is plagueing our country. George Bush is serving as a platform for the fundamentalists. So many states have added bans of gay marriage to their constitution and many more are expected to do similarily this year according to an article I just read. Our last election was about stopping the gay agenda and gay marriage. I want to stop the homophobic agenda. This is why as in my last post from yesterday I chose reason over passion. All this trying to ban gay marriage in the US constitution and state constitutions is about passion. How they feel about gays and what rights they feel they should have. Reason would tell you that all people deserve the same rights including the right to marriage. Reason would say that gay marriage is not going to destroy the santicty of marriage. Looking at marriage though in todays times, Britney's short marriage, such high divorce rates, and infidelity, it doesnt look like that much respect for marriage to me anyways. I am so tired of hearing snide remarks about homosexuals on campus, people like that lady on wife swap, hate crimes, not being able to publicly express affection without worrying about what someone is going to think,etc......! I do believe the community has made some advances in the last few years and that many more will come. The climate will improve. it will just take time.
Education and people getting to know homosexuals on a personal level is key to help change the tide. the latter would help change perceptions. I hope that one day I will have the right to marriage in this country and have all the federal rights that come with it. I believe one day that I will see it happen. For now though, I live as myself with no apologies. I dont force my homosexuality down anyone's throat. I am not trying to destroy America or marriage.Im just me.

Passion or Reason?

current mood: frustrated
.

current song: "Falling" (Remix) by Mya

Damn my alarm clock didnt go off right, I slept through costume. Well not quite but there's no way, I could make it and be for a good portion of the class.Im going to lab though.

If you had choose one or the other, not both, would u select reason or passion? If you could only think with your heart or think with your mind. Which is a better basis for decisions including legal and personal decisions? We talked about this in World Lit yesterday and I thought I would throw it out to everyone who reads it and see what comments and thoughts u might have.
I wanted to say its a balance of both(I follow my heart but I also listen to the voice of reason) but that wasnt an option for this question.I ended up siding with reason.

My visit to concina caliente and oh shit, we have a quiz!

current mood: tired but content
.
current music: none right now im in the library

*some pictures of claudia and diana have been added*

Today in MUHU (which is Music and the Human Imagination),we had a quiz that I was so not prepared for. I had a pencil this time though and fortunately some nice guy let me have a scantron. I really need to study and listen to those CDs today. I actually dont think I did bad on this quiz though so maybe I was more prepared than I thought. He is going to go over the answers friday.

.
Last night, Claudia, Mela,Diana and I went to this club called Concina Caliente and had so much fun. We were originally going to the R Bar in Denton but we got there, only like 5 cars were in the parking lot and we were like "hell no"! it is no fun to go to an empty club. So we drove to addison I think it was (Rosmeade and George Bush) and had a blast. The club was packed and somehow I got in for free cover. I pulled out my wallet and she was like your friend already paid for you. I was like are you sure and she was like yea so I went in. It was fun helping the girls get ready for the club. They all did their hair (like Claudia crimped her hair, Mela straightened hers, and Diana slicked hers back) and put on beautiful makeup. I gave Claudia a few makeup tips and helped her pick out the right lip color. I helped Diana pick out her shirt and Mela with her earings. They all looked so gorgeous. Girls have so much fun getting ready to go out. I wore this cap and looked like a b-boy or break dancer kind of guy. They are some crazy party girls. They got pretty drunk or tipsy. We were all dancing and having a blast. Mela and Claudia were all like "Dave's a pimp." They said some guys were jealous of me. We were hip hop dancing, kind of bump and grind dancing I guess you would say, which was alot of fun. Mela touched my crotch and was like " You aren't hard, dave?".She was trying to arouse me but I told her sweetie Im gay. It was funny.Im just having fun, dancing with all of you (totally non sexual to me even though it was suggestive dancing). They all told me I was a really good dancer. They danced with other guys too and I just danced with one of the three of them. We all had shots together of Yanger(sp)?. I dont know. Diana ordered it. I also had a rum and coke and a cherry vodka sour. Drinks were cheap like $2.00. It was a great night and we are definitely going clubbing again. They want me to go on thursday and I said we'll see.

.

this is diana

.
this is claudia

Tonight is the GLAD meeting and I might go as Kimberly. I think after World Lit, I am going to spend an hour or two in the costume shop getting some extra practice because I feel behind in there just alittle bit. I may not really be behind but better to be ahead than behind. I just want to get more comfortable with the machine.

looking back on valentine's day and thoughts about today!

Current mood: Energetic, full of life happy!
.

*note: if you dont have time to read the whole post today, make sure you read the last few sentences*

Hey everyone, did you have a good valentine's day? I know I did. Me and Jerry had class together in the morning like always. I walked him to class. I was really upset when hallmark.com was done because they have the best quality e-cards. Alot of e-cards out there lack quality and style. Well I found some cute ones at HGtv.com, who would have thought but they were nice. After Jerry's last class, we got together and went to chilis for a nice meal. Afterwards, we went back to his place, watched tv, and cuddled. It was really nice being the arms of the man I love. We had talked about going to a movie but I was glad we went back to his place instead. At the movies, you cant really cuddle and stuff. I am very lucky to have him in my life.

.

Today, Costume class was fun. I learned how to tie a knot with thread and about fitting procedures. Class flew by. The lab was cancelled but I may go back and do some practice on sewing and hmwk. At 5, I have a production meeting to attend. as the assistant, I have been doing some research on heroin addicts and what it does to your face at different phases of addiction because two of the characters are addicted. I also had to do research on trends of hairstyle for gay males for the couple Rod and Carl, which was easy and fun.

Last night I was talking to my parents and my dad was like yea what are the show dates?, Id like to come to a show. I still havent told them that they shouldnt come to the show. I just dont think they would find it entertaining like the long sex scene (even tho its under the covers). They are trying to down play the inappropriate material some but there are some things that are unavoidable to be true to the play. Season ticket subscribers were sent out a letter advising them about the objectionable material of the play so not to offend. My dad was like we have always enjoyed seeing the plays there. They always do a good job. My dad also hasnt come to every production like he wouldnt have liked "Country Wife". I just dont want them coming to the play and being offended.

I am also very happy that a friend of mine is back with her new blog!
why do people like hackers get happiness out of destroying other's things?
we should be here to do what we can to better the world and help others.

Until next time I leave you with this............
Did you make someone smile today? try. it is amazing how the seemingly simplest gesture can make someone feel.

Heather Skyy "Diva of the week"

current mood: romantic and energetic
current music: nothing, just the sound of other students on the keyboard

*good the pics are back to working yay!*

This is my good friend Heather Skyy. She is a wonderful performer who performs every other Wednesday at the Rose Room in the Edna's Angels cast show, at JRs, Mobys, and many other in town and out of town bookings. She has been a top 12 finalists at Miss Gay Texas America for the last two years I believe; I know one day we will see that crown on her head. She is very talented as she makes all her own wigs and costumes; She also makes costumes and wigs for many of the other performers. Her boyfriend, who I met along time ago when he worked at Pier 1 imports, saw me on gay.com one day and we started chatting. He told me his boyfriend did drag and that his drag name was Heather Skyy. I started talking to them on aim and we slowly became good friends. She has done my makeup many times and my first performance costume was made by her. I would love to get some more costumes made by her someday and possibly a wig or two from her two.Last year, she hosted GLAD's(for those of you who dont know that is the LGBT group at UNT) benefit show and was a hit with everyone. She keeps looking fishier everday and has really made a name for herself. I am very proud of her and this is why I have named her my diva of the week.

yes,shes all boy!

She loves bright colors, floral patterns, and flowers in the hair.

Here is her as a boy. I wanted to show you this to see just how amazing the transformation is. another thing about heather is that she defies the myth. All drag queens are feminine men. He is a very butch acting guy and really would never guess he did drag if u just met him.

For more info on Heather Skyy and a whole load of lovely pics, you can go to www.HeatherSkyy.com. She will also be performing Sunday Feb 20th in the Rose Room as Special guest.

Today is Valentine's Day so Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! I may write more later about other things but for now I gotta go! Hope your valentine's day is special!

Huggs and Kisses,
Dave

this is the lesbian couple and their daughter from wife swap! Posted by Hello

Wife Swap (Two Mommy Household with Ultraconservative Christian Texas Family)

current mood: happy!

current music: Killing me softly-Fugees!

Heres an article I found very interesting so I thought I would post it!

When TV’s Wife Swap landed an ultraconservative Texas homemaker in a two-mommy household in Arizona, the homophobia flowed hot and heavy. How did it feel to be in the direct path of the bigotry? The Advocate talks to lesbian mom Nicki Boone
By Dave White
An Advocate.com exclusive posted February 8, 2005

It was only a matter of time before ABC’s Wife Swap went there. In this week’s episode (airing Wednesday, February 9, at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific), liberal-leaning Arizona lesbian Kris Luffey trades places with Texas conservative Christian Kris Gillespie. And while Gillespie’s staid, taciturn husband, Brian, and their three teenage children are depicted as taking the lesbian invasion of their upscale Texas home mostly in stride, Luffey’s partner, Nicki Boone, her 8-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, and the virulently antigay Gillespie didn’t exactly “somehow form a family.” Boone spoke to Advocate.com about her 10-day ordeal with the perfect Christian mom [Kris Gillespie has refused to do press about the show]:

I just want to say before we get started that I’m from Texas myself, and while there are plenty of antigay Christians out there, there are also a sizeable minority who would have treated y’all a whole lot nicer than Kris Gillespie did.
Yes, but ABC wouldn’t have wanted that, right?

True. Fireworks make better TV. How long where you swapped?Kris wasn’t with us very long. About 10 days.

Five days of your routine and then five days where she made all the rules. Did you have any expectations going in?
I knew what I was getting into. I assumed we’d be paired with an extreme opposite. I figured it would be a conservative heterosexual couple. We were actually just hoping to be seen as a gay family on TV, to show people that our lives are not very different from anyone else’s.

What sort of changes took place in your family after the show taped?
Well [laughs] I mow the grass now. Of course the show was fixated on that. What you didn’t see, what wasn’t explained well, was that I do all the inside housework already. But I’ve stepped up and I do it sometimes. And we did learn a little more about how to understand one another.

Have you seen any changes in your daughter, Elizabeth?
No. We were hoping for some [laughs]! We were hoping she’d stop the “I hate you! You’re mean!” stuff and see that all parents are “mean.” But she didn’t see that. Kris Gillespie was nothing but kind to her.

Did Elizabeth have any ideas about what religious people were like before this?
Yes and no. We’re religious ourselves. We attend church every week, and my family is also very Christian. We’re just not fundamentalists.

Oh, wow, see, because the episode never mentions that y’all go to church too.
No they didn’t. But whatever. I know I go.

Did Kris Gillespie ever inspire genuine fear in you?
No, I’m not afraid of people like her. Kris [Luffey], on the other hand, there were times when she was. She and [Gillespie’s husband] Brian had some arguments that didn’t make the episode, and she also had to go to church with them. It was “Marriage Amendment Sunday, Call Your Senator Monday” day. So she had to sit through a gay-bashing sermon. And Brian signed an amendment petition in front of her at church. It was very emotional for her.

I could see from the end of the episode that there’s a definite division of labor with you two. Your Kris was doing the crying and you were doing the yelling.
If someone pushes me, I get upset, especially when it’s completely idiotic.

Were there moments during the week when you and Kris Gillespie got along well at all? The episode shows her just being meaner than a snake to you almost all the time. And you didn’t necessarily shrink from her yourself.
There were. We both knew how to be civil when it was necessary. There was a dinner party that you don’t see, and we all had very pleasant conversations that night. She invited missionary friends of hers who happened to live in our town. And I know how to be social. I know how to keep my politics under my hat for a dinner party. Afterward, the producers were like, “Well, you didn’t bring up anything controversial.” And I said, “Well, we weren’t talking about it. It didn’t come up.” If you get in my face I’ll get passionate with you. But we were talking about missionary work, and I was interested in that. I had nothing rude to say to them. I know how to treat guests in my own home. But when it was just Kris and me it often became very tense. She’d bring up an issue and I’d go to the Internet to get some real facts to show her about her misconceptions.

In the final moments of the show, did Kris Gillespie actually call you sexual predators?
She used those words. She used them from the beginning. She was concerned about her daughter—that my Kris was going to molest her.

Oh, God.
Yes, not that Kris was going to convert her daughter to lesbianism, but that she was literally going to molest her.

And while the episode shows you all talking about having learned something about yourselves during the filming, Gillespie announces very clearly and very plainly and in a very unpleasant tone, that you had “brought nothing to [her] table.” That really hurt Kris, and that was one of the other reasons she cried at the end. She went to their house and really tried to do some helpful things, buying art supplies for the daughter, giving the kids a little more freedom. [Gillespie] was just incredibly mean-spirited.

Are y’all going to put the Gillespies on your Christmas card list, just to annoy them? Make yourself a little holiday thorn in their side every year?[Laughs] No, no. I’m not like that. I can’t antagonize people that way. What I hope is that Kris watches the episode and allows herself to process the idea that she is actually that person that she sees on-screen, and that maybe she can learn some compassion and some better ways to behave.

The Risk of a kiss

I often see straight couples walking each other to class and they kiss to say goodbye to each other. No one thinks anything of it, nor should they. Me and Jerry walk each other to class often but we never really kiss each other goodbye. It would for sure raise a few eyebrows, people would think something of it, and most wouldn't think "aww look at the cute couple kissing". It makes me sad. In order to do something so beautiful and so natural, you have to step out of your comfort zone and take a risk. Why should I care so much what others think though? I should just say fuck it all, I dont care if you stare. I rememember sometimes last semester,Jerry and I would walk together on campus holding hands. *smile*

Mr and Mrs. Black UsofA and Time.....

Congratulations Daesha Richards & Brandyn Thoma
Miss and Mr. Black UsofA

check out the crown for miss black USofA. lovely!

Also this weekend for any of you drag fans who read this blog this friday and saturday the Rose Room will have special guest Erica Andrews (the current reigning Miss Continental)!

Well today my costume class was cancelled. I think I am going to go in at 5 though to do some costume lab hours. I am not very good at sewing but I believe with practice I will get more comfortable with it and learn. I think right now Im just alittle uncomfortable using the machine because I am always afraid of messing up. Its like when you first start driving. I also need to do some reasearch for Cleansed on how faces look at different stages of herion addiction. I am going to finish beautifying my room so it will be nice and clean when Belinda comes over tommorow. I am going to use this extra time to study some for MUHU too.

Omg I am listening to launchcast radio(yahoo radio) does anyone else use this? its great because u can rate the songs, albums, and artists u like from its ok, like it, love it, cant get enough, and never play again. you customize it just to your taste. You can also skip songs if you're not in the mood for it at that moment. You can start off by rating genres and artists you like and then as your station plays you are introduced to new artists from those genres too and you can choose whether you want to hear them or never again. You should try it!

So back to my to do list, I think I am going to see Diana because I have not seen her all week and I need to spend time with her because friends are like gold.
I need to decide what extra costume lab hours I want to do this weekend. We have to do some hours per semester for the course (extra hours will help raise your grade) and they have extra hour oppurtunities this weekend. crunch time! Well its off to go eat and start doing things for me. Until next time, ask yourself "Is what I am doing today helping me get toward my long term goals for the future?" If not, then you have wasted a day! Dont waste time, its so precious.

22 more dead in Iraq yesterday......

I cant help but thinking wow, thats 22 precious lives lost, ended
22 families that have to be delivered the awful news that their son isnt coming home
their dad will never have dinner with them again
their uncle wont be visiting next summer or ever
It saddens me
my roomate from my first year of college is at bootcamp right now (I think hes still in bootcamp) and headed for Iraq. I worry about him. Hope he makes it out of this evil war alive. Has a grand welcome home party from his family. I hope we will get the chance to hang out again. He was a great talented funny guy. I wish he had stayed in school but everyone makes the choices that are right for them. I pray for him now and for all the soldiers.

In other news.....
a 14 year old girl was found stabbed to death yesterday in holtam city. why? I wonder. who would want to kill a young girl like that? so much death, so much lives ended before their time. what would have happened to that girl? what would she have grown up to be? a artist? a lawyer? a loving mom? a teacher? we will never know.

well it is time for me to head off to history of costume and decor......back to Egypt!

I leave you with this thought: Live every day like it is your last!
